Father's Day is fast approaching, so what better way to treat your dad than to make him some homemade flapjacks? This recipe makes soft and chewy flapjacks with a delicious buttery taste. We guarantee your dad will love these yummy flapjacks!
Ingredients:
165g butter
125g soft brown sugar
2 tblsp golden syrup (60g)
250g rolled oats (not jumbo oats)
pinch of salt, and ground ginger
Method:
Preheat oven to 200 °C /180 °C fan/ Gas 6/ 400 F
Grease a square baking tin, line the bottom with grease proof paper.
Heat butter, golden syrup, and sugar on a low heat, stirring often, until the butter is melted.
Remove from the heat and stir in the oats, salt, and ginger.
Turn the mixture into the prepared baking tin. Spread evenly and press down with the back of a spoon.
Bake for 20 minutes until a light golden colour for a soft flapjack. Give it a little longer if you prefer your flapjacks to be slightly crisp.
Run a knife around the edge of the tin. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then mark the flapjack into desired squares. Leave to cool, then cut into pieces. Enjoy!
